Christmas is around the corner and I hope I’m not the only one who left the gift shopping for the last minute. I’ve bought a few presents yesterday but I still have quite a few to arrange.
In case you are in my shoes this Gift Guide can be a helpful list of some very cool gifts. I have collected ideas for different types of people such as travel addicts, beauty gurus, fashion lovers and the artsy friends. Obviously these do not cover the entire humanity but you will hopefully get inspired!
For a travel addict
For a travel addict the best gift would be a plane ticket but if you can’t afford that I’d recommend choosing practical accessories such as a cool backpack (PSTR Store), a passport case (Asos) or high quality headphones (Urbanears). This beautiful scratch map from Urban Outfitters is a lovely gift to decorate a room, and you can scratch off the countries which you’ve been to. Also, a nice notebook (Word.) or a book about travelling (Urban Outfitters) is always a great idea, I think everyone loves these.
For a beauty guru
I assume 80% of girls / women love receiving beauty products, whether it’s a box of hair products (Dove), makeups (palette: Smashbox, lipsticks: MAC) or a cool face mask from Sephora. For someone who has a thinner hair or hair loss problem which needs some lifting you can get this Rowenta Volum’24 Respectissim which I’ve been using for a while and it totally works. And you can get a 20% off for this product at Home and Cook‘s website if you use the code “iemma” (it’s valid until the end of December)!
I also recommend Hello Soap, I have used their bath bombs and body scrubs and they are not only natural/vegan but they smell amazing as well!
For a fashion obsessed
Who would not like to receive a bag for Christmas? There’s no such thing, everybody loves bags. Parfois has a lot of stylish items at a great price! Jewellery is also a jolly joker, whether it’s a gorgeous silver pendant (mandra.hu) or a Hungarian designer’s shiny choker (Anna Amelie).
Did you know that Kenzo Takada has collaborated with Lipton? The result is a beautiful design for the tea boxes! Actually tea was on my X-mas wish list as I’ve been pretty much addicted to tea lately so in case you are my friend and you’re wondering what to get for me I’d prefer this tea, haha.
It’s risky to buy shoes for someone because the size might not fit but you can’t go wrong with a pair of slippers (Public Desire), they are more likely to fit! Same thing with clothes, that’s why I usually get accessories as a gift, for example cute knitted hats (Tomcsanyi).
For the artsy one
If you have some artsy friends you should get them useful things like paint. I, personally very often run out of paint (especially white, damn, I use too much white) so I think it’s a great idea to get someone paint or maybe brushes. For a hobby painter you can find good quality but not very expensive acrylic paint at Jysk. For a professional you should think twice and get a better quality (Amsterdam, Pannon Color, etc). A nice pencil case can also be very handy (Lunss).
Funny gifts are always good idea, like a cool pop art coloring book (Asos) or a T-shirt with a Monet painting on it (Red Bubble).
A book about design (here, particularly, graphic design – Urban Outfitters) can make anyone (who’s interested in this topic) very happy, and a cool phone case (Pantone) is a gift that literally always works (alright, except if you’re buying an iPhone 6 cover for someone who has an iPhone 5).
