Mesh Sweater Sewn By Me | Hello, 2016!

For 2016 I don’t have too many resolutions because I just don’t really like this, I mean, usually I can’t keep them so it’s unnecessary to promise them. Of course I have plans and goals for the new year but those are not really written down, they are just in my head every day. I know that if I achieve them I’ll be a happier person and that is motivating enough. One of my ‘resolutions’ (or plans) is to sew more this year. I always have designs but I can get too lazy or I have no time to sit…

Eye Candy: Marchesa

I have to sit down… Alright, actually I was already sitting but still, I forgot to breathe while I was scrolling through the Marchesa Pre Fall 2016 collection lookbook photos. You know that I’m not that kind of girl who’s into everything that is called ‘fashionable’ or ‘trending now’ and I don’t automatically follow all the current trends when I dress up. However I’m always up-to-date with the newest collections because for me fashion is not H&M or Bershka, it’s not what I can afford, more like what I dream of. Since I was a little kid I had this pure love for clothes…

Sewing Is My Passion

As I’ve mentioned in my previous post I was attending a sewing course this week which took 20 hours (four days). I didn’t go there with no experience, I have sewn many clothes before (click here if you would like to see some of them). I’m really into sewing, I’ve been doing it for years and it’s one of my biggest passions. I had made the decision to go to that course because I wanted to learn more and improve my skills and I wanted to know exactly how to sew small details properly. It was really useful, I can recommend you…

#londonlife | About My London Trip

I arrived home on Saturday from my favorite city: London. I’ve spent a wonderful week there. The streets, the buildings, the parks, the people, the food (oh hello, Pret A Manger!) the art… I was fascinated by so many things. Basically I travelled there to attend a portfolio preparation course at the famous art university called Central Saint Martins. The course was from Monday to Friday and I enjoyed every second of it. I’ve learned many things about the school itself and the application, and I’ve picked up new skills, and of course practiced a lot. We were drawing, painting, mono printing,…

Current Sketchbook Situation

Currently I’m obsessed with blue and pink color shades, you can clearly recognize this on my sketches. I’ve been inspired by Szegedi Katalin’s drawings, she illustrates children’s books and I just love her works. My favorite book from my childhood was also illustrated by her and it’s fantastic. The word of princesses, fairies, flowers and magic has always been kind of a part of my life, I used to draw a lot of things like that. Actually if you see my old sketchbooks, those are all full of princess dresses that I had designed, I loved doing that. :) Now…

A New Chapter…

Welcome everyone on the brand new iEmma site! I really hope you like this design, this is what we’ve been working on lately. I would like to say a huge thank you to Anna who created the logo and the header from my painting. I feel like this is a new chapter in my almost-5-year-old blog’s life. :) Oh yes, it’s almost been 5 years since I’d started blogging! Unbelieveable. For today’s outfit post I thought I should wear something self-sewn, after all this is a pretty special occasion. I picked this pink midi skirt from my collection, it’s one…

Self-Designed Outfit At The TGFW

For the Toni&Guy Fashion Week Budapest I have sewn an outfit for myself. I thought it would be cool to wear something self-designed on such a big fashion event like this. :) The skirt was made from a strong pink colored material which is like a raincoat material, or – in some light – it’s like fake leather. The black sweater is a simple long sleeved piece but I applied a grey pleated hem on it. What I like about this outfit is that it’s so comfortable yet chic and elegant! It was appropriate for the fashion week but it…

Quilted Skirt Designed & Created By Me

Here is what I’ve been working on lately: a quilted skirt! Well, actually it was ready before I left for skiing but I didn’t have time to take outfit photos with it until now. This skirt was made from a really cool quilted material, it wasn’t easy to work with it but it was a great experience! Unfortuntely I forgot to take a photo of the inner side of it because this material has different colors on different sides: this one is black as you can see but the other side is orange! Basically this is not a skirt material,…

Sweater & Skirt Designed By Me

Here is what I’ve been working on lately: a self designed and sewn sweater and skirt! I hope you like them! The sweater was made from a thick black silk material and in the front there is a blue square which reminds me of the Teletubbies’ thing on their belly, haha. The light yellow figure in the middle of the square has a story, the inspiration was a broccoli and it was quite a long process until the final print was ready… I’m not sure whether it has anything to do with broccolis but I really like how it looks.…

2014 Summer Collection VIDEO

This summer I have sewn a little collection which contained four outfits. Last year I did the same (with five looks) and I made a video of the clothes (if you haven’t seen it yet check it out here). As you really liked it I decided to make a video of this year’s collection too! This time the concept was totally different, and we recorded the video in a studio. Veve and I were the ‘models’, I’m so thankful for her that she came and helped me and she is so gorgeous in this video and very professional! :) Anyway, it…
